Before writing her first book, Lu worked as an art designer for the video game industry. She attended the University of Southern California and interned at Disney Interactive Studios. By the age of 5, she and her family moved to the United States in Georgia in 1989. Marie Lu was born on July 11, 1984, in Wuxi, China, and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California. She is also the author of The Young Elites series, and many other books. Marie Lu (originally born Xiwei Lu) is the author of the Legend Series, which consists of Legend, Prodigy, Champion and Rebel as well as the trilogy's side novel Life Before Legend. I also get lost very easily, but am a halfway decent driver. I like food, fighter jets, afternoon tea, happy people, electronics, the interwebz, cupcakes, pianos, bright colors, rain, Christmas lights, sketches, animation, dogs, farmers' markets, video games, and of course, books. I write young adult novels, and have a special love for dystopian books.
